Mr. Pierfranco Simone
Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon
Mr Pierfranco Simone is a consultant Plastic Surgeon, specialising in Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery. He trained at the prestigious Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, Italy.
He spent long periods of time in the UK, where he gained expertise in state-of-the-art cosmetic surgery. The evolution of his proficiency in body contouring, has led him to the application of these techniques to the most challenging cases, such as ex-obese patients (post-bariatric). In fact, Mr Simone has developed a special interest in the treatment of body deformities caused by massive weight loss. These conditions cause functional limitations as well as cosmetic impairment and, since many areas of the body are involved, a wide spectrum of specific surgical techniques are required for their correction.
Mr Simone enhanced his competence studying skin cancer in 1999 at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, UK. Since then he’s been actively involved with the early diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, gaining particular expertise in dermoscopy, allowing accurate microscopic evaluation of skin lesions and their excision margins before surgery.
In his practice, both for surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures, Mr Simone aims to implement sophisticated, precise and rigourous techniques. In particular, he focusses on short-scar surgery, under local anaesthesia, allowing minimally invasive procedures, with a low risk of complications and quick recovery.
Mr Simone is currently employed at the Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, a famous University in Rome. Here, in addition to his surgical activities, he is involved with teaching programmes, actively participating in research projects and the production of publications in internationally recognised medical journals.
